Vermiculite is one of the world’s most unique minerals. Scientifically it is composed of hydrated Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, it has characteristics of lightweight, inorganic (incombustible), compressible, highly absorbent and non-reactive. Vermiculite is used in thousands of applications and is ideal for seed covering & mixing with compost, soil and hydroponic mediums. We highly recommend mixing at a 50 – 50 ratio with Perlite for Autopot systems. At a 30 – 70 ratio (vermiculite – perlite) it creates a media that is more water-absorbent than perlite and will allow you to water less.
