Description
Frass is insect manure sourced from farming Black Soldier Fly Larvae, used in an innovative process to produce organic waste.
Like any manure, it’s a concentrated souce of nutrients. Frass is naturally rich and promotes beneficial soil fungi & builds healthy soil.
Unlike other manues, frass contains a compound called chetin. Plants have a valuable relationship with chetin, it stimulates receptors to act defensively – thickening cell walls to deter attack. This reaction is beneficial – stimulating stronger growth, less susceptible to pests and disease, creating more robust plants.
Growth trials have shown frass increases plant health and drough resistance.
APPLICATION RATES
Sprinkle a small handful (approc 100gms) around exisiting plants. For new garden beds, incorporate 100-200gms/square metre into the top 150mm of soil. Always water and mulch well to preserve soil biology.
If adding in potting mixes, use at around 2% of volume.
