Lightning Grower Coco Coir Block 4kg – Expands to 65L | Buffered Coco Growing Medium

Lightning Grower Coco Coir Block is a 4kg compressed, premium 100% natural buffered growing medium that expands to approximately 65 litres when hydrated.

Washed, low in salts and calcium/magnesium buffered, coco coir provides excellent water retention while maintaining air around the root zone. Ideal for hydroponics, pots, propagation, potting mixes and soil improvement.

The Lightning Grower Coco Coir Block is a convenient compressed growing medium made from natural coconut coir.

Each compact 4kg block expands to approximately 65 litres when hydrated, making it an economical way to store and transport large volumes of growing media.

Designed for horticultural and agricultural use, coco coir provides an excellent combination of moisture retention, drainage and root-zone aeration.

Premium Buffered Coco Coir

Lightning Grower coco is washed to reduce excess salts and is buffered with calcium and magnesium, helping create a more stable growing medium for nutrient-fed plants. The supplier specifies a pH range of approximately 5.5–6.5 and low salt levels.

Excellent Air-to-Water Balance

One of the major advantages of coco coir is its ability to retain significant moisture while still maintaining air around plant roots.

The supplier states that the coir can hold up to approximately nine times its weight in water while retaining good aeration.

This makes it ideal for growers looking for:

• Excellent moisture retention
• Strong root-zone aeration
• Good drainage
• Healthy root development
• Consistent nutrient delivery
• A lightweight alternative to traditional growing media

Suitable for a Huge Range of Plants

Lightning Grower Coco Coir can be used by itself or blended with other growing media.

Ideal for:

• Hydroponic growing
• Coco-based growing systems
• Run-to-waste systems
• Indoor plants
• Vegetables
• Fruit plants
• Flowering plants
• Seed raising
• Propagation
• Potting mixes
• Soil improvement
• Coco/perlite mixes
• Coco/pumice mixes

Easy to Store – Easy to Expand

Because the coco is heavily compressed, a large volume of growing media can be stored in a relatively small space.

Simply place the block into a suitably sized container, gradually add water and allow the coco fibres to absorb the moisture and expand.

Once fully hydrated, separate and fluff the coco until you have an even growing medium ready for planting or blending.

Create Your Own Growing Medium

Coco coir also makes an excellent foundation for customised growing media.

Mix it with:

Perlite for increased drainage and aeration.

Pumice for additional structure, aeration and long-term stability.

Root Rocks for a customised mineral-based growing mix.

Vermiculite where additional moisture retention is required.

This versatility makes Lightning Grower Coco Coir suitable for everything from hydroponic production to indoor plant and horticultural applications.
